About:

Bengisu Üstay is an artist whose practice focuses on companion species, heritage, and ecology. Exploring forms of coexistence between human and non-human beings, she questions the intersections between cultural heritage and ecological relationships. Her research draws particular inspiration from thinkers such as Donna Haraway and Anna Tsing.

 

She studied Media and Visual Arts, as well as Archaeology and Art History at Koç University. Throughout her education, she produced interdisciplinary projects.

 

In her recent works, she continues exploring the complexity of interspecies relationships and the transformative aspects of collective memory.
